For those of you out there who care about such matters, here’s the full spec list for my Peugeot ‘ten-speed’.

Fork: Carbolite+ with sloping lugged crown, mudguard eyelets, clearance for 25mm tyres and fenders UPDATE! OR 35MM TYRES WITHOUT FENDERS!
Rims: Weinmann 613 box section eyeletted
Hubs: Maillard alloy low flange, quick release
Tyres: Specialized All-Conditions – 700×25 – black
Handlebars: 40cm Maes pattern drop in chromed steel – unbranded
Tape: White Bontrager Cork
Stem: Atax aluminium quill stem – 11cm
Headset: Chrome steel threaded
Front Mech: Huret Eco
Rear Mech: Huret Eco
Shifters: Sachs Huret Downtube friction shifters
Chainset: Solida 52-42t with chaindisc
Pedals: VP alloy quill style
BB: Adjustable/rebuildable cup and cone style of unknown manufacture
Freewheel: Sachs Huret (?) 6 speed – 14-24t

Brake Levers: Weinmann non-aero drilled levers with GT extension levers
Brakes: Weinmann 500 calipers
Seat Pin: Chrome steel, unbranded with separate clip
Saddle: Lycett L’Avenir leather in dark brown with cutaway nose

      I know, I know – I’ve broken my own rules there – black tape would have looked so wrong on this bike. Cloth would look even better. Perhaps in white or orange.
